Free Cataract Surgeries by Al Rayaz & One Ummah

On July 12, 2025, a life-changing medical initiative unfolded at Al Rayaz Medical Center in collaboration with One Ummah Foundation (OUF). This collaborative effort brought hope, healing, and restored vision to patients who had suffered in silence for years, all free of cost.
The free cataract surgery project was not just about medical procedures; it was about restoring dignity, independence, and quality of life. A total of eight cataract surgeries were successfully performed. Each patient was provided with free medical care, post-surgery medicines, and nourishing meals, ensuring a compassionate and complete recovery journey.
Among the patients was a particularly heart-touching case: a woman from Ghorabari, who had lived in complete blindness for over 20 years due to a stone-hard cataract. Her vision loss had isolated her from the world, leaving her unable to perform basic tasks or move independently. Her surgery at Al Rayaz marked a powerful turning point in her life. The next day, when her bandages were gently removed, she opened her eyes to light, and to hope.

All patients for this project were carefully identified and traveled to the facility from Ghorabari, a rural area where access to specialized medical treatment is scarce. This effort reflects the commitment of both OUF and Al Rayaz to reach the most underserved communities, where such medical care is often out of reach.
The operations were conducted on July 12, and the following day was filled with emotional moments as patients had their bandages removed and vision restored. These surgeries not only addressed immediate health concerns but also removed years of darkness, dependence, and despair from the lives of the patients.
The project was a true model of partnership and compassion. While Al Rayaz Medical Center offered its medical expertise and surgical facilities, One Ummah Foundation facilitated logistics, outreach, and support. This kind of collaborative healthcare model ensures that help reaches those who need it the most, efficiently and ethically.
These stories are more than statistics, they are testimonies of what can be achieved when organizations come together with the shared goal of service and humanity. For One Ummah Foundation, this initiative reinforces its commitment to providing impactful medical relief and community support.
The Foundation extends its heartfelt thanks to the doctors, staff, donors, and volunteers who made this effort possible. Your support continues to illuminate lives, literally and spiritually.
