OUF Provides Solar Power to Empower 3 Disabled Persons

Turning Skills Into Sustainable Livelihoods

One Ummah Foundation continues to support vulnerable individuals by helping them turn skills and training into sustainable sources of income. In Ghorabari, OUF provided solar power systems to three persons with disabilities, helping them operate sewing machines they received through an NGO after completing the necessary training.

For individuals living with disabilities, access to employment and reliable income can be a major challenge. Providing the right tools and resources can help remove some of these barriers and create opportunities for greater independence.

This project is a powerful example of how humanitarian support can go beyond immediate relief and focus on long-term empowerment.

Solar Power Supports Sewing Machine Work

The three beneficiaries had received sewing machines, known locally as Juki machines, from an NGO after receiving the necessary training to operate them. However, having the equipment and skills was only part of the journey. Reliable access to electricity was also essential for them to use their machines and put their training into practice.

To help overcome this challenge, One Ummah Foundation provided solar power systems for the beneficiaries.

The solar systems can provide a dependable source of electricity, allowing these individuals to operate their sewing machines and continue developing their livelihoods without depending entirely on an unreliable power supply.

From Assistance to Independence

This initiative highlights an important principle of sustainable charity: sometimes the best support is not simply providing someone with immediate assistance, but helping them build the ability to support themselves.

A sewing machine can become a livelihood. Training can become a skill. And access to solar power can help turn both into an opportunity for income.

For the three beneficiaries in Ghorabari, this support can help them work with greater independence and dignity. Instead of being defined by their disabilities, they are being given practical resources to use their abilities, earn an income, and contribute to their families.

Empowering People With Disabilities

People with disabilities often face additional economic and social barriers. Livelihood empowerment projects can help create opportunities that allow individuals to participate more fully in their communities.

The support provided by OUF demonstrates that empowerment does not always require a large-scale project. A relatively simple intervention—such as providing solar electricity to operate an already-available sewing machine—can remove a major obstacle and unlock an existing skill.

This is the kind of meaningful impact that sustainable humanitarian work can create.

One Ummah Foundation's Commitment to Empowerment

One Ummah Foundation continues to support vulnerable communities through food assistance, clean water projects, education, orphan support, emergency relief, healthcare, and livelihood initiatives.

The Ghorabari solar power project reflects OUF's commitment to helping people move from dependency toward greater self-reliance. When donors support empowerment projects, they are not simply giving assistance for today—they are helping create opportunities that can benefit families for years to come.

May Allah bless the three beneficiaries, strengthen their livelihoods, and reward every donor, volunteer, and organization involved in making this project possible.
