OUF Support Uplifts Ghosia Free Dispensary Lahore
OUF’s Support to Ghosia Free Dispensary and Clinic
One Ummah Foundation (OUF) continues to extend its unwavering commitment to community health by supporting the Ghosia Free Dispensary and Clinic in Lahore. For over 30 years, this clinic has been a vital source of medical care for residents of a nearby low-income settlement, serving hundreds of patients who otherwise lack access to affordable healthcare.
With the generous funding from One Ummah Foundation, the dispensary has undergone major operational and infrastructural improvements, transforming it into a more functional and patient-friendly facility.
Renovation and Facility Enhancements
Thanks to OUF’s contribution, Ghosia Free Dispensary and Clinic has been renovated and upgraded to better serve its growing number of patients. The improvements include a complete paint job, new furniture, an improved sitting area, and the addition of modern medical equipment, including an ECG machine, nebulizer, glucometer, and blood pressure apparatus.

These enhancements have greatly improved the quality of care and comfort for patients, ensuring a more dignified and efficient healthcare experience.
Better Access to Quality Medicines
Previously, due to limited funding, Ghosia Free Dispensary and Clinic could only provide high-quality medicines to a small number of patients — primarily those undergoing cancer treatment as prescribed by oncologists. Other patients, despite needing care, often had to rely on less effective or generic alternatives due to budget constraints.
With the continued support of One Ummah Foundation (OUF), this situation has changed significantly. The clinic is now able to procure branded, high-quality medicines in sufficient quantities, ensuring that every patient, regardless of their condition, receives the right treatment. Despite the rising cost of medicines, the management has prioritized maintaining both quality and supply to meet the needs of an ever-growing number of patients.
This improvement in medication availability has had a direct and visible impact on patient health outcomes, leading to increased trust in the dispensary’s services and a steady rise in the number of daily visits
Despite rising costs, the dispensary now maintains a sufficient medicine supply, resulting in a marked increase in OPD visits, from an average of 60 to nearly 90 patients per day.
Operational Improvements and Staffing
With patient numbers rising, Ghosia Free Dispensary and Clinic has extended its timings to serve more individuals each day. Additionally, a lady dispenser has been hired to better assist female patients, ensuring accessibility and comfort for everyone seeking medical assistance.
A Legacy of Care and Gratitude
The doctor managing the facility shared heartfelt appreciation for One Ummah Foundation’s continued support, noting:
“With the funding by OUF, major operational changes have been made. The impact has been tremendous, both in quality and outreach. We hope OUF will continue its support for this noble cause.”
Located in one of Lahore’s underserved areas, the Ghosia Free Dispensary and Clinic stands as a testament to how consistent support and compassion can sustain life-changing healthcare for vulnerable communities.
Through this ongoing collaboration, One Ummah Foundation reinforces its mission to uplift communities by improving access to quality healthcare and ensuring that every patient receives care with dignity and compassion.
