A Small Investment That Changed Hundreds of Lives

Sometimes, changing lives doesn't require millions of dollars. Sometimes, it begins with something as simple as a mattress.

Through the generosity of One Ummah Foundation donors, 243 mattresses were distributed to displaced families living in camps in Barawa, Somalia. What may seem like a modest investment became a life-changing blessing for more than 200 vulnerable families, many of whom had been sleeping directly on the hard ground for months.

For these families, a mattress is far more than a place to sleep. It represents comfort, dignity, protection, and hope.

Restoring Comfort to Displaced Families

Life in displacement camps is filled with daily challenges. Families who have already lost their homes often struggle to access even the most basic necessities. Sleeping on cold, hard floors can lead to discomfort, illness, and exhaustion, especially for elderly people, mothers, and young children.

With the distribution of 243 mattresses, over 200 families now have a safe and comfortable place to rest each night. A good night's sleep allows parents to wake with renewed strength and gives children the comfort they deserve despite difficult circumstances.
