Children’s Eye Camp Brings Hope & Healing on May 24

On Saturday, May 24, 2025, a special children’s eye camp was held at Al-Rayaz Hospital, in collaboration with the One Ummah Foundation (OUF). Organized through the generous efforts of Mr. Aslam Azad, the camp ran from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM and focused on diagnosing and treating eye-related concerns in children from underserved communities.

Led by the compassionate and experienced Dr. Kashif Anis, the camp welcomed numerous children who received thorough eye checkups in a friendly, welcoming environment. The initiative aimed to detect early signs of vision issues, providing children the opportunity to access timely and quality care.

In addition to examinations, free medicines were given to children needing treatment for infections, allergies, or other minor eye problems. Moreover, for children diagnosed with refractive issues, spectacles were arranged and delivered to their homes in Thatta, ensuring they received the essential corrective support they needed, without having to return or bear any cost.

Phaco Swiss Machine

As part of One Ummah Foundation’s ongoing commitment to improving community healthcare, the organization has sponsored a Phaco Swiss Machine for Al-Rayaz Hospital. This advanced surgical equipment is primarily used for cataract surgeries, helping restore sight for patients suffering from one of the most common causes of blindness in Pakistan.

Cataracts remain one of the leading causes of preventable blindness in Pakistan. With the Phaco Swiss Machine now installed at Al-Rayaz Hospital, dozens of low-income patients can benefit from advanced surgical treatment at minimal or no cost.

A Step Toward a Brighter, Clearer Future

This children’s eye camp reflects the deep collaboration between One Ummah Foundation and Al-Rayaz Hospital, united by a shared vision to provide accessible, quality healthcare. Initiatives like this not only improve medical outcomes but also create hope and opportunity for families who would otherwise go without care.
