Kashmir has been a conflict zone for three decades but this latest conflict, including a 7 month-long lockdown, has taken a massive toll on local people's mental and physical health. Now with Eid coming, this Muslim-majority region is in a second lockdown due to Covid-19, doubling the hardship of the poor. Daily wage earners can't feed their family. The lack of work, provisions and communication has intensified the distress for Muslim families - not to mention the political tension.

Ramadan 2020 for Kashmir, still recovering from the previous lockdown, looks different - no visiting the Mosque, no food market, no contact, no dates to break the fast - just barbed wire and armed guards on the street...and families are running out of food.
